I Am Such A Neglectful Blogger!
My last post was over 2 months ago. Oops! I have kind of gotten addicted to facebook, and tend to give little "mini" Sophie updates and general life happenings updates via "status." But, I realize it is time for a more substantial update. First, Sophie.
Sophie is now 9 months old! She is bursting with personality and I am really feeling like she is already growing up too fast. She began to crawl around the middle of November, and she enjoys exploring everything. She got her first two teeth within a couple days of each other at the beginning of November. As of right now, it is just those two. She loves to stand herself up and "walk" around the furniture. She is pretty quick too. And, she has become quite the talker. She has been an expert at the "da," "ba," and "la" sounds for some time, but in the past few weeks she has successfully mastered "ma," and "na." And I know it seems early, but she is starting to equate "dada" with Brian, "mama" with me, and "nana" with my mom. She is a sweet little cuddler--that is my favorite. She had her 9 month check up last week. She weighs 19 1/2 pounds and is 28 inches.
She has settled into a great routine. She wakes up between 7:30 and 8:00 (most of the time), eats breakfast, naps at about 10:00, eats lunch at about 12:00, naps again at about 2:00, eats dinner around 4:00, and then goes to bed at 8:00. She naps pretty consistently for 1 1/2 -2 hours. She has become a pro at putting herself to sleep. She has a pretty amusing "binkie" routine. I put her in her crib with one binkie in her mouth and then have to hand her another (sometimes 2 more), and she immediately spits the first out and quickly puts the other in. She then holds on to the one (or two) that is not in her mouth and examines them...I suppose trying to decide which one is best suited for that particular nap or bedtime. It is pretty funny to watch. She wakes up from her naps (most of the time) happy, and will talk and play in her crib until I come to get her. Since we have been home from WV for Christmas, she has not woken up particularly happy in the morning because she has been waking early. I am thinking this is just a phase (one she will hopefully grow out of soon!). She is a great eater, and is trying all sorts of new foods. The newest is cheese. She loves it. She also loves bananas, and graham crackers.
Brian is busy working at Rochester College. He graduated with his Master's Degree in December, and that is a huge weight lifted off. I am working on my last two classes and my thesis. My goal is to graduate in the spring of 2010. We are still trying to sell our house in Lansing. Hopefully soon!
